Rachel Attias is a writer, educator, and editor based in Portland, OR.

 

She teaches creative writing classes and workshops at Literary Arts and Hugo House, and has previously served as prose reader for The Adroit Journal, and prose editor for 45th Parallel Magazine.

 

Her writing has appeared in n+1, Porter House Review, X-R-A-Y and more, and has been nominated for a Pushcart Prize, Best of the Net, and Best Small Fictions.

 

She has received support from Hedgebrook and holds an MFA from Oregon State University. In 2023 her short story collection manuscript was selected as a semi-finalist in The Journal’s Non/Fiction Prize.

 

She is currently at work on a novel which imagines a small community’s response to a proposed fracking operation in a fictional Wyoming National Forest.
